Royal DeMaria Wines, 'Canada's Icewine Specialist', are living up to their slogan once again by capturing 3 medals at the 25thVinExpo annual Challenge International du Vin in Bourdeaux, France. Winnings in this renowned world competition include a gold medal for the Royal DeMaria 1999 Riesling Icewine, a silver medal for the Royal DeMaria 1999 Gewurztraminer Icewine and a bronze medal for the Royal DeMaria 1999 Pinot Gris Icewine. The gold winning 1999 Riesling Icewine is going on to a second tasting called "Olympiades du Vin" with official results being released at VinExpo as part of the trade show in mid-June.

This competition brings Royal DeMaria's winnings up to 17 awards in 6 competitions internationally so far this year, with all the wines entered being represented. This is an impressive standing for a winery just now entering into their 3rd vintage.

For the 2000 Vintage, winemaker Joseph DeMaria will be releasing a new series of high caliber blended Icewines to add to his outstanding portfolio.
